Zoltan Dobi is an avant-garde, recording project and musical endeavor, started in the late 90's by 2 friends: alGARhythm BaiLey and Adrian Taylor. Both born and raised in the Orlando, Florida area. The native noise made by these 2 individuals consists of assorted, auditory stylez containing portions of: post rock, sound collage, experimental analog electronics, satire, and lush ambianica. With hundreds of heard & unheard recordings under their belts to date. The early part of the new millenia marked an important chapter in the growth of Zoltan Dobi's development as original, auditory entities and true purveyors of unfettered, undefineable musical sound. In 2005, after many years of incessant rehearsing, recording, jamming, tinkering, wild-eyed optimism, occasional bickering, lots of JD, MJ, red wine, and a truckload of laughter. A full length Zoltan Dobi album of ZD's most treasured recordings and experiments finally came to fruition and into physical existense - Zoltan Dobi - "Cooter beek invades foreign occupations" contains 23 tracks of audio exploration in man-made modes of altruistic formationism. A constant incarnation of sound, from the imagination & hearts of infinte offspringing. The MuZaK left behind stands as an auditory totem of time, experience, and expression. -As an indelible fingerprint of that odyssey. Gar Bailey has released his first 2 albums, "the South Pole on Fire"
& "Reinventing the Orange" on Polyvibe Records under the
alias of "alGARhythm", and is now working on new alGARhythm
recordings, live dates/tour plans, & some other musical/visual collaborations.
In May of 2007, Zoltan Dobi released "cooter beek invades foreign occupations" on Polyvibe Records in an MP3 format. Also included were 3 previously on unheard recordings. Two of which date back to 1998. Perhaps these recent releases and goings-on may spur some new possible recordings in the not so distant future. We shall surely see. |
